Does Eating A Plant Based Diet Make You Better In Bed?
Posted by FJ Leto on February 10, 2022Could this be really true? Though this concept was popularized by PETA (which is not exactly neutral about its opinions on animal consumption), there are valid reasons to believe that great sex is on the list of reasons to eat a plant-based diet.
Smell and Taste
If you’re going to get hot and sweaty, and plan to do so naked, wouldn’t it be nice to smell a little better? A 2006 study on body odor found that more pleasing aromas came from participants who followed a plant-based diet versus a diet containing meat. Since smell is connected to taste … You can connect those dots.
Happy is Sexy
One study found that following a plant based diet significantly improved people’s moods after just two weeks. Being a happier person doesn’t necessarily make you better in bed. But eating plants seems to increase production of serotonin and oxytocin, the “feel good” hormones that enhance all kinds of happiness and connection with your romantic partners.
Blood Flow and Erectile Dysfunction
Increased blood flow is one of the well-known benefits of eating a plant based diet. Good circulation increases heart and artery health and decreases chances of developing clotting-based conditions. And, increased blood flow can go … anywhere it’s needed.
Compassion
We could all use a little more of this in the world right now. Many people who follow a plant-based diet don’t do so just for better health or better sex. Many people choose to eat this way because they have compassion for animals and our planet as a whole – and that usually includes people as well.
This Valentine’s Day (and maybe every day), add some plants to your plate, especially the red ones.
