1 container or (14oz.) tofu (not silken, any other type is fine)
1 – 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
½ teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove fresh minced
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon black salt (recommended if you have it) or tamari
salt + pepper to taste
To make it a veggie scramble, add:
½ red pepper
1 cup mushrooms
1 cup spinach
If making a veggie scramble: Add veggies in on medium high heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Cook Tofu: Heat the pan (or turn heat down) to medium heat, add the tofu while crumbling it between your fingers into scramble eggs size pieces. You do not need oil for this typically if you have a decent pan. Cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
Add Seasoning: Add the nutritional yeast, garlic + onion powder (optional), turmeric, salt and pepper to taste, cooking for 2 minutes more, stirring frequently.
Add Ons: Add black salt, hot pepper, sriracha, or anything you like in a scramble to taste and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
